I Fiumi
Design: Claudio Silvestrin
The re-edition of I Fiumi, designed by Claudio Silvestrin, presents a harmonious blend of timeless aesthetics and functional enhancements, catering to modern bathroom needs while preserving the collection’s distinctive character. One of the notable updates in this iteration is the introduction of lower-height base units, strategically designed to optimize space utilization without compromising on the essential containment functions required in the bathroom setting.
This innovative approach not only maximizes floor space but also offers practical storage solutions for various bathroom essentials.
In terms of versatility, the I Fiumi collection offers modules in sizes of sixty, ninety, and one hundred twenty centimeters, providing flexibility in design and configuration to suit different spatial requirements and preferences. Furthermore, these modules can be seamlessly integrated with the re-proposal of the Piave countertop washbasin, adding a touch of sophistication to the ensemble.
Despite the functional upgrades, the re-edition stays true to its original design philosophy, characterized by clean lines and seamless surfaces. The absence of visible joints and the meticulous 45° chamfer detail on the top, side, and front panels maintain the collection’s minimalist elegance, creating a serene and visually appealing ambiance in any bathroom environment.
A noteworthy addition to the 2024 version of the collection is the introduction of the monobloc variation, featuring a wooden column and Rubicone washbasin. This refined and elegant option adds a luxurious touch to the collection, elevating the overall aesthetic and providing discerning homeowners with even more design possibilities to create their ideal bathroom sanctuary. With its blend of functionality, timeless design, and luxurious details, the re-edition of I Fiumi by Claudio Silvestrin continues to epitomize excellence in bathroom design, offering a harmonious balance between form and function.

The polyester lacquering is carried out by a process of applying paints on MDF panels, with several coats. The surfaces are sanded with different coarse-grained and fine-grained sandpapers. Then they are polished using brushes impregnated with abrasive wax. The result obtained is a very glossy surface (close to the mirror effect) that reaches 95 gloss. Polyester is a very resistant material, practically waterproof; its surface does not absorb, but is sensitive to scratches. The scratched surface can be re-smoothed and re- polished or even repaired adding material and then by sanding and smoothing it again. Three layers of paint coat each surface, it means 900 g/m2 (ca. 1 mm thick); nine layers of paint coat each edge (ca. 3 mm thick). It is sensitive to light if directly exposed for very long periods. It can slightly change the tone, becoming lighter especially on light tones (family of whites). In case of element additions in a second moment, these tone changes cannot be perfectly replicated and may not match exactly the original shade. This issue cannot be considered cause for a complaint.

Wood layers, with support made of strip wood. Boffi uses only wood from not primary forests, to guarantee an adequate restoration of the renewable raw materials. Doors and panels have vertical grain. The “old“ grey pinewood consists of pinewood solid boards recycled from renovation of old houses, barns and huts. The characteristic grey tone of this material is obtained by specific painting cycles, which give the typical “old” aspect to this wood. Possible cracks and deformations have to be considered characteristic part of the product. Since these pieces are very unique, they have the typical appeal of “imperfect things“ and they clearly display sign of times and bad weather; therefore they show deformations and wrinkles strength. Worktops obtained with old wooden boards offer a clear example of the wood vitality and instability. For this reasons each piece in solid wood has to be considered considered “unique“ and different from all the other ones.
