Designer Nendo

Nendo is a design firm founded in 2002 in Tokyo, with architect Oki Sato, born in Canada in 1977 graduated at Waseda University in Architecture as its principal.

The firm realizes its goal of bringing small surprises to people through a multidisciplinary practice whose media include architecture, interiors, furniture, industrial products and graphic design.

Nendo opened their Milan office in 2005, and have achieved international recognition for their award winning designs for European manufacturers including Cappellini, Depadova, Moroso and Oluce.

In 2012 he’s “Designer of the Year” for Wallpaper* magazine and “Designer of the Year” for Elle Deco International Design Award.

In 2009 he designed Shortcut accessories for Boffi and in 2010 the Othello bathroom cabinets.

“Shortcut”: a bathroom accessory collection whose pieces include a towel hanger, hanger stand and mirror, all made by bending one stainless steel rod in six places and fusing it in two. Our motivation: to create a functional object from the most minimal of materials.
